About CERMR
Helping To Safeguard The Environment
CERMR is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation dedicated to conduct research and development to advance environmentally responsible recyclability of end-of-life hydrocarbon materials and to advance the re-purposing of by-products for commercial use, consistent with the new circular economy. By-products include clean syngas, hydrogen, rare earth elements and various metals. The organization solicits financial support from government and non-governmental entities to support and sustain research and development.
Purpose & Values
The organization will advance the science, technology, economic and environmental understanding of the recyclability of materials for purposes of further commercial usefulness and to reduce or eliminate their negative impacts on the environment.
The work of CERMR puts the U.S. at the forefront of technology leadership globally, creates a new industry, technology-related high paying jobs, investment, and future export revenues. CERMR is in alignment with U.S. Department of Energy priorities such as the Plastics Innovation Challenge and the Appalachia Energy Hub, work force development, and serving a depressed economic area.
The facility and its work provide the U.S. the most expedient and cost-effective solution to the waste plastics and materials crisis, including ocean wastes recycling, and achieving the national security priority of U.S. rare earth elements independence.
